Project Description
On January 12, 2010 a catastrophic magnitude 7.0 earthquake hit the island nation of Haiti. Infinite Way was part of the initial responders, thanks to its previous work for communities around the capital city of Port au Prince. Within days Infinite Way shipped cargo containers full of first aid kits and other basic supplies. Food items, clothing, wheelchairs and special equipment for disabled children were also sent in large quantities to hard to reach outlying communities. We facilitated the arrival of foreign doctors, nurses and volunteers to provide medical care in makeshift triage centers. The work continued long after the original tremor. Infinite Way provided scholarship to many orphans and widows of the disaster. In addition we created new classroom structures and equipped them with material, teaching supplies as well as playground equipment.
